Friend of mine had the same it was the sd card that was the problem. the sat nav had to be reprogrammesd to find the root menu. I copied the SD card contents to my laptop, uploaded to a new car then configured it to select the exe file from the sat nav

pluged it into my compo using a usb lead and it said unit was faulty so couldnt see what was going on.

I assume its a microSD ?

if so you could use your phone as a card reader (assuming you've not got an iphone etc...)

or you can buy adapters to make them fit a normal SD slot: linky
(half the time you get the adapter free with a new card)

or I got one of these: linky free with a card once, wish I still had it as its really handy
