Anyone with LFSLFS and fancies a race, I'll be online tonight for a while (
) I was online last night for
hours getting absolutely THRASHED by the pro's. That is one mean game! I've not got enough credits yet, so I won't be in a seven...
.
STill coming to terms with the basic front wheel drive jobby. The rear wheel drive car is so tail happy for now...
I've only got a keyboard
control for now (will a Logic PS2 FF steering wheel be compatible?)
Maybe race later?
Aaaaargh, a keyboard driver, spawn of the devil!
A mate intro'd me to LFS and the wrangling that went on between keyboard & wheel drivers. The wrangle being that with those using a keyboard
used to switch on the all of the assist modes and not have to worry about locking up, how much steering lock to put on, over/understeer etc whereas
wheel drivers either could'nt or wouldn't use the assists. Consequently, those with fast times were invariably keyboarders, until the mob
who program LFS (sorry, can't remember their name right now
) sent out a patch to correct this. That is why, if you download any setups created
by keyboarders they are often unusable with a wheel as the amount of brake force & suspension setups are just hideous.
Excellent piece of software though, not really a game so much as a driving simulator.
I've gained enough credits for both of the seven reps and they are devilish tricky, tail-happy batsrads to drive. I just don't think
I've found a decent setup as yet, not many to download as most people prefer the MRT5. I wish they'd stop fitting the cars with turbo
engines though, give 'em a nice Nicholson McLaren V8 will ya!
Sod LFS takes too long to get enough credits, gonna stick with Toca race driver 2 till GTR comes out...
Tim
Viper - feel the same way, got bored with LFS, constantly getting thrashed on-line. Prefer Racer Driver as well, more of a laugh
Hellfire, if you ever end up racing a bloke called either Cab or Cabsky that's me mate
Browser - you'll have to slow down as you pass me so's I can read you're name
