Snow, more exciting than just plain rain (and lots of it)

colibriman - 21/10/04 at 08:59 PM

oh nooooo........not that white sh*t.....

Markp - 21/10/04 at 08:59 PM

What a difference a few miles makes, I'm junction 26 of the M1 and it hailed but obviously not as bad as you had.

All dry now and it didn't last too long, passing storm

That was the best lightning I've seen in ages

jollygreengiant - 21/10/04 at 09:58 PM

J15 ish. just had lottttssssssssssss of rain & wind. Snow sorts the men from the boys when it comes to driving in/on/through it.

Personally I Lurv it.

Enjoy.

colibriman - 21/10/04 at 10:04 PM

I dont mind it when I have the choice of driving in it for the fun ........but it really pisses me off when I HAVE to drive in it.....

It was lying on the Ochils in Perthshire yesterday. We overlook the hills from the house! Its early this year

We had lots of rain in Arizona today. (Which is unusual) And the temps dropped into the 70's farenheit.

I was so cold today that I wore ljeans and shoes to work today instead of shorts and sandals...

hehehehehe

It looked like the lightning was yards away and the hailstones were rattling everything, Then I ran over a cone blowing in the road and got it stuck under the van wheelarch so I had to get soaked moving it. Bugger!!

I hope we don't get another winter like a couple of years ago. I might get some snow chains or just ski to work.

DaveFJ - 22/10/04 at 12:13 PM

Hmmm...

watched 'the day after tomorrow' last night...

this all seems a little familiar

(reasonable film, good special effects, crap science, total b****x ref helicopters)

Deckman001 - 22/10/04 at 03:28 PM

There have been several warnings about this being a VERY cold start to the winter, not by the MET, but by the people who forcast the wettest summer since records began, they said this in January this year and were proven right !! this is not the first weather warning they have given and been proven correct
Thick woolies all round then, oh and heard the other night that there might be power cuts this winter as well just to add to the fun, I think I will get the generator back from the garage just in case !!

James - 22/10/04 at 03:32 PM

Absolutely pissed it down last night. How pleased I was to go into the garage and find it 1/2" deep in water where the drain outside was blocked!

Just out of interest- what happens when you and your welder are standing in water when you spark up?
