Hi all Can anyone tell me if a 12v bell or light will work on a telephone extension

bt use nominal -48v for most of their stuff, also bell circuits are really bad for broadband.

but there are lights for 'hard or hearing' available

edit: an adsl filter does generate 'bell circuit' (pin 3) signals. even when there is no bell wire
