Sometimes automatic programs send out nonsense emails to every email address it can generate. If you reply asking what the hell they're on about,
that just confirms that the address exists and is being used, so it goes onto a mailing list and you get HEAPS of crap.
Best to delete as you did!

after he retired. Unless you are he.
