Hello !
chris59 - 3/1/16 at 05:13 PM

Bonne année ! (means happy new year !)

Don't know where to do this in this forum, so I choose this section to introduce myself : Chris, from France, owner of a solid axle, twin cam Lotus engined '85 Caterham, and of a '87 Westfield SE, both kit built in England.

I'm a mechanic, and also own "several" others English cars : about 35 Triumphs (Spitfires, Heralds, Vitesses, TRs, Stags, saloons 4 and 6 pots, .....), 2 TVRs (Taimar V6 and Tasmin 350I), a Relant Scimitar SE5a, a '76 classic Mini, '73 Land Rover serie 3, the very first registered Vincent Hurricane (Triumph Spitfire based), 2 Jaguars (420 and XJS 3.6), and a few others toys.

These cars are in various state, from very, very good to very, very poor

My next project, that I still have to find, is to built/buy something similar (but not necessary absolutly identic) to a Lotus 11.

Cheers !

Well, about storage, yes, I've some space in my barns/garages, but I've also very good friends

About rust, they are English cars, aren't they ? Only the GRP do not rust

Hello !

I'm from Valenciennes, a town near the Belgium borders, about 100 Mles from Calais.

I've recently sold one of my cars (a fantastic factory built very early Caterham Super Sprint) after 6 years of ownership, so I'm really after something similar to a Lotus 11 (alloy tub + GRP) to fill the gap.

I was thinking about a Zeroracing ML11, but they seems to not exist anymore ?

Westfield do a kit by the looks of it?

Hello,

Yes, I'm aware of this replica, but I'd like to find something who would accept a Ford Kent engine, imho the "Mini" engine is a bit underpowered.

Secondly, I haven't got enough spare time to completely built this kind of kit, I'd rather start from a car who need some work or already nearly finished.

Do you think that I could find an Eleven replica body who could be bolted to my Westfield Seven chassis ?

Nice collection. My brother had a v12 XJS and 420G (and another for spares) along with (my old) '72 Series3 with recovery crane in Munich. The Jags alone took up a lot of space and had to go in the end for that reason.

chris59 - 3/1/16 at 07:21 PM

You know what you are talking about !

Yes, the Jags are big tanks, but I love them : my XJS is a third owner from new, absolutly rust free, so I don't think to part from this car, but the 420 (slightly less big than a 420G/MkX) need a lot of work, and may become a donor car to built a D Type replica, one day....

BTW, it would be a shame, as it is one of the rare manual gearbox model, 3 owners from new, as my XJS.
