BOX PROFILE ROOFING SHEETS-ANTI CONDENSATION-SLATE GREY COLOUR COATED

Hi all
has anyone used this type of sheeting and is it any good i don't want to have holes to let cold air in i want a sealed garage
the reason i am renewing the roof is because it leaks and drips

I have it on my roof. done 8 years ago, you get the profile gaskets to close in the ends. I do have a small area of rus appeared bt this was my fault because I should have touched up the scratch, I live right on the coast so the salt air attacted the scratch. I would use it again when I build my new shed.

So you are saying its good for a closed no air circulation garage my garage is a pre-cast concrete 5m x5m and not very high

beware of condensation a friend of mine has done his but we lined it with ply first and it seems to be ok

It's excellent.

My neighbour has it on his garage. I have it on my garden shed come summerhouse.


Fix it down with roof screws; the sort that have a rubber seal washer and drill their own holes.

I would hesitate to make it an unvented garage, especially concrete. Where will all the water vapour go?

It's been on my roof (concrete garage) for 3 years now and condensation is no longer a problem at all. I don't have ventilation apart from draughts where I haven't sealed it properly. A tip I learned too late is to burn off the flock at the gutter end to stop water wicking back. I do get a bit of that, but I helped my son to re-roof his and used a blow lamp to burn off the flock - no problems at all. It's also strong enough to walk on with no problem.
The only downside is the noise. Heavy rain drowns out the radio and apples falling onto the roof sound like a bomb going off. Several times last summer I was concentrating on some machining job when I jumped out of my skin as an apple fell.

Consider having a translucent panel too - makes a huge difference (but don't walk on that!)

For a dry garage your best having lots of wall vents on side and the opposite of the prevailing wind, worst garages I’ve had were fully sealed and I think cars actually rusted just as fast as being outside especially in the winter when the air is damp and the cars are cold, sometimes the cars were just soaking wet, inside!

when I put my summer house up the advice was to put vents in one wall at the lower left and then on the opposite wall at the top right so you get flow diagonally across the whole garage. These can be just round holes (1" and then put a metal/plastic louvre over it
