Anyone unfortunate to have to use small clains court, is there a minimum amount to for which a claim can be made? Can you include court any any other fees incurred when making the claim, e.g. losses due to not working on the day of the court? (I am assuming that one or both parties need to attend court.

I've taken out small claims court claims on three occasions but it's been a while . From what I remember you can add court fees to the claim but not sure about any other expenses . I didn't have to attend and on each case the court found in my favour . The paperwork involved was fairly simple at that time and explained how and what to claim for

Yes I have been through the small claims court and won, but have been unsuccessful in enforcing the collection as the other party is a snake! There is no minimum, and you do add the fees to the amount you claim. The fees are related to the amount of the claim, the minimum bracket being £250 if memory serves me right.

Same here, won the case, sent 3 letters from Sheriffs officer (at my expense )warning him we were going to enforce the order, but can't go any further due to the Scottish/English law difference.

You are within your right to claim for direct and indirect costs associated with any claim against a third party - but you have to advise said 3rd party of exactly what you are claiming for, and total amount (can't remember if an exact breakdown of figures is required before the actual day). Am I still right in thinking there is a sliding scale for cost against amount being claimed? Luckily I've never actually had to go through the process, just made some enquiries and threatened action, then the matter was sorted before it ever got to the courts.
