Just changing a Briggs engine on a lawn tractor and the new engine has different connections.
Using a multimeter the new engines alternator kicks out around 25v dc at full chat... I need to be able to charge the 12v battery in the tractor. Am
I right in thinking I can't just connect the 25v to the battery... I'd need some sort of regulator?
Anyone know of any generic 15a dc dc regulators that would charge the battery? I know Briggs must do one but over the years they have had so many
different charge systems I can't work out which part number I need :s
Pretty sure mine chucked out 24vac. I put a diode in to make 12vdc.
im sure you use a rectifier like my outboard, have a look on eblag for single phase rectifier kit, theres a company called akora or similar does a kit for around ten pounds
