Just heard that Thunderclap Newman of Something in the Air fame died on April 1st a classic single from 1969 , one of my favourite singles

99 perecent of those around here are either too young or too senile to remember him -- but you are not the only 1 perecenter who remembers when rock music rocked sweetly and change was in the air.

Seen him (them) perform at the 400 club in Torquay, supported by a young Elton John and the star act was Joe Cocker and the Grease band, now I've got all maudling and time warped

I consider myself middle aged at 42, but must admit I've never heard of him myself - then again I am an expert at only hearing what I want to

ETA...I'm also now deaf in one ear so the hearing ability has dropped somewhat.

That was a great song. Remember it well, same time as my first girlfriend. "Call out the instigators". It also reminded me that most records then would have a instrumental bit about 3/4 in.
