I dropped my brothers down a drain near our house in Ryton nr Newcastle, not thinking it would float, just following that old kid thing of posting things into things. HE never has let me forget that

I had one, probably in my Mum's loft somewhere I think, with all the other models we had as kids (except the really good ones which are in my loft!).

Saw the real car in a showroom in Stockport when the film was first out. I thought it was in the cars the star museum in Keswick these days.

I had one. Moving the handbrake made the wings spring out. They don't make em like that anymore!

I think it was his son who had the car.
Wasn't Caracticus the nutty old Army Captain?

Sad ain't I?

Nah caracatus was the dancing inventor (got the video & my daughter used to like it) (OK I liked it as well - Heath Robinson himself is on the credits)
Talking of car films, the Stimson Special (I think) in "monte carlo or bust" was a rebodied 427 cobra(!) - I believe they made a few for the film but they were all made back into cobras.
