on the industrial estate just up the road from me is a bloke making trailers,he said he would make me a 4 wheeled trailer ,galvinised, all the electics ,jockey wheel ,the whole thing so i could just tow it away,i told him how low these kitcars are and he said he will make it so that i can leave it hitched to the back of my car and just drive the kitcar on
i have seen some of his work, its very tidy and robust and will make to any specification. the price £800-£1000. is this over the odds and would anybody else be intrested

that sounds to be a very competetive price - i sold an old bent one for around £500, so surely new for 8-10 is a bargain.

That is a absolute steal. You would struggle to buy a decent second hand one for that money.

just bought one from woodford trailers near daventry £820 including vat,10'x5'7"bed,7' wide so fits in my garage, light weight single axle, long ramps,so easy loading on your own, hitch lock, spare wheel, and four rachet straps, all included, tows great,MK engineering have also got one.

Hi, I can vouch that the MK (woodford)trailer tows well with my Indy on the back.
I have towed cars literally hundreds of times, and I think you are wasting your money ordering a four wheel trailer if you only intend to tow a Locost or indy.
A two wheeler is easier to reverse and move about by hand, and most importantly keeps the weight down.
If you need to carry heavier cars then that is a different matter.

good point about 4 wheels - mine was a proper twat. i used to have to bounce it to get it round by hand.

iv only used a 2 axel trailer a couple of times but towing it was a pleasure and iv heard a few people say that after towing cars on both single and 2 axel trailers they would have the 2 every time,i know pushing them a round is harder but i dont plan on doing that much

The main thing Ox is to think about the tow car,if it is quite a heavy car youre ok, but if its around or below a ton you will probably be over weight with a twin axle and a 650kg car as well.
I'm ok as i drive 1.3 tonne of Saab turbo supercar

cheers for that dean, thats something to look into,my car is a golf tdi ,not sure on the weight of it,but if my kitcar weighs in at 650 something will be getting the chop
but if you could get a 2 axel for the same price as a single axel would would you still go for the single
