I need to moe my car from Warrington to Birmingham tomorrow.I can hire a car trailer for £30 but guess what i havent got a tow bar!!!!I have looked everywhere to see if i can hire a small transporter/pick up but nothing anyone got any ideas?

Before I had the trailer I would speak to the local scrappy.
A scrappy never turns down easy money, and they all have transporters.

It's never cost me more than £30.

Is this for your DVLA inspection by any chance? If so, you could try what I did - get there REALLY early (about 7.30 for my 11.30 appointment), then if they ask just say you got trailered and dropped off in the morning. Nobody can prove otherwise because they weren't there that early When I went nobody asked, they fitted me in at 9.30 and when I was finished I just pushed the car out of sight and quickly drove home!

Arn't you allowed to drive to the dvla inspection?

I did and the inspector even helped me reverse out of the car parking space

I was told by my local DVLA office in no uncertain terms that i HAD to trailer my car to the inspection with all 4 wheels off the road. I tried to explain that I am allowed to drive to the SVA test when nobody has set eyes on it and it could be the most unroadworthy machine ever, but they were having none of it. Guess I showed them...

as long as you are insured (i was insured on my chassis number as i had no plates) and the test is pre-arranged appointment. its the same as driving to an mot after a failier or it has gone past the renew date. phone a kit insurance specialist and ask them. some body like roadsure or adrian flux.

No i need to get some work done and there is no way i am driving a 100 mls down the m6 in this weather. Managed to borrow an old diesel fiesta with a tow bar now so should be ok.
I was allowed to drive to the sva and dvla offices with the car insured on chasis number.
