Memories I can just make out my first Imp in the distant background of one of the shots in the Ingliston paddock.

Loved Ingliston in its 70s layout particularly in the wet --- get the arena just right and you could feel the car jump an inch or so to the side as
you went over the line of cobbles on the outside crossing :-) That would line you up perfectly for the Esses :-) Line up for Caravan (best corner
ever !) then harry flatters down the back straight through back stand without lifting into top and brake HARD for the hairpin outbraking anything
that wasn't an Imp on the way in, stay tight on exit and you might just find a useable line for left hander, If you get it right and swoop into
arena and start another lap :-)

I remember Ingliston from the late 70's and in particular a vw beetle variant that was unbeatable unless it broke down. Some of the locals from
up here still race in different formats.i.e Kenny and Gordon Murray and then there was Bob Burgess and I think kim ritchie as well.Just looked at all
the photos (i must be in the crowd somewhere) oh boy happy days back then. Only trouble is my kids are the age i was then.

I would glad pay big money to attend a Race meeting at Ingliston again, but I'm sure it'll never happen.

Nivens beetle was quick but the real classic days were pre beetle with the Boss Escort and the battles with Bill Dryden in the the Viva/Firenza.
The year Laurence Jacobsen fought a hard season in the up to 1000cc against Ian (Forrest) was a classic -- pound notes via rough and ready make do.
Of course loads of other names that could be mentioned High Chalmers, Eddie Labinjo, Tom Brown, Ken le May .............

Do you remember that the armco on the inside of arena had a ramped end on it.
I once saw someone try to overtake Jimmy Fleming's Celica and barrell roll in mid air with the assistance of the armco.
Landed about 50 feet east of the start / finish line on his roof.
Then there was the time Eric Paterson totalled his Vision halfway between southstand and the hairpin. Smacked a tree and had to be cut out.
I still wish I could go back there though...

aye , he was very calm with everything !! , never see him lose his temper , even when we had students cocking stuff up .
Its a shame i never got to meet adrian .
Larger than life didn't quite cover adrian --- very clever guy but a a business man a disaster :-(.
Adrian would come up with the big ideas -- Tim with the little details that made them work.

ive only known him since from around 1996
Bought two chassis off them a Saloon and a Mk8, trying to get Adrian to finish anything on time (or otherwise) usually involved a lot of phone calls.
so youve actually owned davrians , excellent - youll no doubt understand the difference between good and bad laminating which could be visible on just
one chassis , especially if it was the immigrants doing it .
i have lots of stories !!!
Tim said that adrian would just never complete anything before he got his next idea and moved on , leaving others to finish it ie Tim .
