if spain can sell seats, there may be hope for rover yet 




Seat is part of volkswagen / audi / skoda. the cars are basically the same but restyled to suit different market segments. It is exactly what rover needs and exactly what BMW should have done 10 years ago.
you mean like the rovers that were based on hondas. And look how honda got stitched up by brit aerospace when they sold rover to bmw.

The current 45 should have been a 3 series bodyshell and engine fitted with a FWD gearbox plus Rover styled bumpers / lights / wings and door skins.
Using existing electrical parts and common brake discs etc would have lowered the cost base considerably making Rover profitable.
Insted BMW refused to have any sporty cars in the rover line up, removing the halo effect that GTIs have on other manufacturers. It didn't
update the 25 or 45 and generally let Rover rot.
