Quick question
tom_loughlin - 15/4/05 at 06:43 PM

can someone tell me the overall length of their car (inc bodywork) so i can work out aerodynamic forces.
i would imagine all seven types are pretty similar.

Thanks
Tom

I know a book chassis is *about* 3 metres long...that any help?

nice one, 3 m was the ball park figure i was going to try initially.

it has there aerodynamics of a brick!

thats what im trying to prove and improve.... will keep you updated as to my progress.

will have a few sets of results by morning for a basic bodyshell (no wheels or projections yet - just to practice the process)

im testing at 7 speeds between 6m s^-1 and 60m s^-1.

13 to 135 mph...nice. The results will be very interesting! Good luck with your project

At 135mph don't forget to make an allowance in your model for the big red eyeballs.

I've always wanted to know what speed the standard windscreen can cope with before getting pulled of the scuttle - is this something you can calculate ?
At least having some idea of the drag force on the windscreen at various speeds would be interesting.
