Notwithstanding the fact that I am a big fat git, I have an overwhelming urge to have a go in a single seater (again).
The last one I drove was one of Tom Brown's old racing school cars, a Van Diemen RF80.
Something like an old Formula Renault - the 1700cc version with the renault box can be picked up very cheap. Around 3500 to 4000 quid.
I would be just as uncompetitive in that as I am in the GTM, but I almost don't care.
There is a reason that 1700cc Formula Renaults are so cheap. They are not very competitive because they fall into the 2000cc class in hillclimbing /
sprinting.

have you considered building a single seater? get a tub and some other bits for dermot and sling a bike engin in ther. last time I was there we where
talking about a cf van demon tub in the 500 regon. could be made in to a nice hill clibe speshal.
infact I was thinking of ofering a kit to turn eathe a FVL or a vandemon CF tub in to a bike hill clime car as I think that for a cost of 5 to 6k +
engine I could produce a very good kit. that could mix it with alot of other hill clime speshals.
