is there any chance an under 25 could hire a van?
I had heard that there were extra conditions applicable.
I'm 24 and finding it difficult to arrange someone to drive me to pick a kit
what kit are you building?i would help if you was closer
Have you got a roof rack?
I've seen people with a chassis on the roof before now
Nick
there are a few places that deal with over 21's, but not many.
Ive hired one when i was under 25 before, but it was over 9 years ago. Keep ringing around. You may have higher excess to pay or bigger initial deposit but if you dont bump it it will still work out cheaper than couriering it (worst case scenario).
there are places that hire to over 21's but they are rare. I'm only 24 and moved house last year and found a company in Abingdon that hires
cars or long wheelbase transits to anyone between 21 and 75 (called Practical). They work out about £6 more expensive compared to most other hire
places who only deal with over 25's.
Using them again at the weekend to collect my new kit from MK.
A lot of places will but the terms are a bit draconian.
I hired a long wheel based transit van from a place not far from Rhyl when I was 23. they were the only place I could find that would let me, most
wanted me to be over 25. It's all to do with the insurance i think.
If you are just picking up a chassis, then it will fit on a roof rack. I had my Sylva Mojo chassis on a roof rack of a mates rover (square looking
type one, forget the model number). It looked a bit top heavy, but it survived a 75 mile round trip to the powdercoaters and back!
Good luck!
Andy
thing is i have to go a long way and ill be picking up a comprehensive kit. Might have to ask an adult to do it for me
Hi have you tryed the one man and a van that are usually in the back of local papers gives you someone to help with the lifting.
if not do you want to buy mine deliverd free for £3500
I hired vans from Budget when I was under 25 (only a few months ago). I think there was a £10 'young driver' fee or something, nothing too
bad.
Other thing you could do is hire a trailer?
Chris
it looks like a trailer might do it actually
