Remember the Madison?

Anybody remember the Madison? While heading out of Sydney along the Paramatta Road, I saw a clutch of what appeared to be brand new Madisons. In Oz, they're known as the "Bufori", and according to one source, there was an attempt to start production in Malaysia.

Check out www.bufori.com for more info.

They seem to be Holden-based, although its not clear wha the base vehicle was in Malaysia. Could be some financial problems, from the sign on their gate.

IIRC the Madison started like as a VW based car, and was then developed to use a chassis designed to take Cortina mechanicals. Quite nice looking car (in the pics anyway, can't remember seeing one for real) probably based on a thirties USA roadster
