I'm sure this has been done before, but I would like an upto date view of the mix of dial-up and broadband users.
If you are on broadband, who do you use and what speed is your connection?
Nick
(I use Nildram @ 512k)
Metronet Broadband 1Mb for home
BT Business 512k for office
ADSL4LESS 1Mb Broadband. Unlimited downloads (totally unlimted!) each month. £20/month. They also do a limited BB, 2Mb for £15/month (2Gb limit)
http://adsl4less.com/cheapest-broadband.htm
Oh and at Uni we have a 10Gb connection which is nice...

Virgin with 3 Gb download and on month by month basis at £14.99. Dial up is too slow these days...
8Mb with UKOnline is £29.99pm
500Gb limit

Zen 512 --- fast for 512 so I don't feel the need for 1meg even though the price difference is tiny. No download cap, no limmit on webspace,
very reliable, great customer service but expensive at just under 25 pounds.
I don't think dial up is useable anymore mainly because of the need to upgrade software on line, and it leaves you open to dialer trojans.

BT broadband at home, 2mb and 20gb.
At school we have some hugely fast thing but its constantly shared between about 200 people

freedom2surf 512 fixed ip, no cap. Can't fault it. They do up to 2meg but I can't br arsed to change it, it's another world after dialup.
Wanadoo broadband. 1mb with 2gb limit. 17.99 a month. No troubles with it.
These others sound like good deals!!
Dial up is a waste of time nowadays. Far too slow.
4mb broadband.Totally free
1mb broadband, unlimited, through Pipex for about £23 per month.
There are slightly cheaper packages out there, but Pipex has been 100% reliable.
BtBroadband.
The basic package - 512kbits - 20 quid or so. That's the limit on my line because of distance to the exchange.
Previously lived in a cable area and had 2mb when it was unheard of.
In all honesty, I don't feel short changed being on 512kb now. It does everything I need, is always on and, errr that's it.

Was about to post 512Kb with BT and notice that today it has just been upped to 2.2Mb for no change in payment, as per advert ages ago
How come, with BT, you pay exactly the same for 2mb to 512kb?
Adam

Just waiting for my migration code from current ISP first.

Homecall - 1.1mb real quick - don't go dial you'll only end up ripping your hair out at the slow speed and your decision to go dial up!
2M broadband from demon.
Parents have just 'upgraded' to 56k dial up (from 33k) on freeserve - unusable for anything except short email and the odd amazon order
these days (IMO).
