I probably never took off because you couldn't see who was in the chatroom when you went in, in the first place. It was a bit like talking to yourself at first. eventually when other people posted... you knew someone was there, but if they stayed quiet you knew nothing.

A little bit of development would see more people use it... shame really.

I'll try that again - only with proper spelling this time.

It never really took off. It was used a little when it was first set up, but it seems that it just never caught the imagination of enough users to keep it going.
I get the feeling that most people on here prefer to think a little before typing

I tried it once but you cant see who;s on there to talk to.

It would be good if someone wanted to arange a discussion on a particular subject. Perhaps have a chat time table on the site to advertise up and coming chats.

i use MSN for chatting at work (i am 250 miles away from the main office) and it works very well. I can always see who is online from my preferred contacts list. When i send them a message it pops up on their screen so they can choose to answer. Perhaps it would be a good idea to improve this forums chat to something similar (ie select a bod from the list of online members etc).
