just got bloody chased by the police and stopped and almost arrested for having a bit of fun in an empty park with my go kart ... bestards lol
ok so its not road legal but a park isnt a road ARRRGG NOW I CANT USE IT AGN unlees i get written permission from the landowner
Yeah, but if you flip it or get squashed, they'll be the ones cleaning it up and having to tell your parents!
Pat...
areas around roads can also be considered to be a public highway. 10 years ago a guy was caught sleeping off a drinking session in a parked car in a
tesco car park. (its an offence to be drunk in a car if you have the keys). At the time the tesco was still being built! Counted as a public
highway

First as boy-racer's car seized by police
DEAN HERBERT
A YOUTH has become the first in Scotland to have his car confiscated under new anti-social behaviour laws.
The 18-year-old was stopped by police after being spotted driving at high speed along the Promenade in Leven, Fife.
Taking into account that he had previously received several warnings about his driving, his red Honda Civic was then seized by officers and impounded
in a nearby storage centre.
He will have to pay £105 to the police to recover it and will incur £12 per day in storage costs, after the vehicle was taken last Friday.
The teenager was also arrested for his behaviour and has been charged with various motoring offences.
The arrest and confiscation of the car were made under the Anti Social Behaviour Act approved by the Scottish Parliament last year. Chief Inspector
John Pow said: "We have given drivers repeated warnings in the media that we were going to embark on this course of action.
"This driver was warned previously, as we are required to do under the legislation; he chose to ignore the warning and we have seized the vehicle
as a result.
"Drivers at problem locations such as the Promenade in Leven and the Esplanade in Kirkcaldy should now take notice."
Fiona Alder, of Fife Council, said: "Officers in the Housing Investigation Team have been working closely with the police to deal with cars which
are being used in an anti-social manner.
"We fully support the action being taken by the police, as it will give respite to the communities which have been plagued by the thoughtless and
dangerous use of motorbikes and by the anti-social behaviour associated with the boy-racer culture."
That sounds a good idea - except they should have crushed it

Having been nearly mown down by kids riding 125cc trail bikes on public footpaths and being told they don't need insurance 'cos their dad says, I told them I would consult the police when I got to the end of the path. Get yourself a drug habit and you won't be maiming anyone but yourself. How did you get it to the car park?
but where would they get the money for the drug habit pete? from the stuff they sold from burgling your house.

and some unlawfull activities are more tolleratted than others.............
Their is always a Mr Plod that takes things a bit to far..

.............
Did the landlord make the complaint or did the Police man just happen to see you???????

not a car park a park big open green space with some trees in
someone made a complaint they didnt say who ..
i saw 2 ppl whilke i was out there walking their dogs and when i saw them i went to the other side of the feild to avoid them ...
the policeman did say he respected me for being fearless coz i went ver this massive jump and got about 6 foot of air
in a kart with no suspension
lol
I used to have a small (80cc) quadbike and used to go off down footpaths (until I came to a style (sp?)) on my own. One day a man threatened to ring
the police and report me, so I never did it again. I recon its jealousy

errm, isn't it also illegal to ride a quad on a footpath? I thought they could only go on "green lanes" the same as landies etc unless
you have the owner of hte lands permission.
As an occasional walker on wet ground you can churn up the footpath and cause walkers to curse you.
Around Cov towards ryton there is a load of waste ground that the quad's and trail bikes go on over the weekend. You see the cars with trailers
parked up on the A46 - is there anything like that near you?
Think about it as saving you from yourself
If you ran into someone, their kids or someones property (like a car) you could be sued. Without any insurance or any legal grounds for driving in
this park you would have been an easy target and the legal case might have bankrupted you and/or your family.
Either way I don't think the law is an ass in this case and hopefully you won't be so daft next time.
Well....... someone had to say it
we used to have like an off road course thing in a farmers feild that he allowed anyone to use for i think it was £5 on off fee
but a traveller
camp set up next to it and they booby trap it with broken glass and nails and other such things that will burst my tyres
there are loads of kids on scramblers/stolen hairdryers riding round the fields near me,even on the footie field when there is a game on,they are a
PITA of the highest order and deserve a good smacking
Same place as they are getting their bikes and hairdryers Steve. They nick the scooter and rip all the bodywork and lights off usually so they are write offs.
Looks like things have changed a bit since I was doing it...Me and my m8's would buy old peds for about £25 and ride them were ever we could...We
didnt steal or harras anyone as we to busy having fun..It kept us of the streets , I took the skin of my knees more than once
As for the moron driving on the pavments, they should have squashed it ......
The reason behind the analagy I used was that im expected to go to court as a witness for an affence that a scum bag commited 5 years ago..It wont
even get that far as he will admit the offence at the last min and blame his "problems" he will promise to be a good boy and get help
