Sounds like one of the new fangled electric motors Chris. I think the GB is a brushless motor and the 2s830 is a charger or battery pack.

Well, 6x3 will be the prop - 6" diameter and 3" pitch.

...but I bet you knew that already!

I suspect that 'GB' stands for 'gearbox'.

Its a long while since i did any electric modelling, but here goes:

10t - 10 turn

24g - the wire gauge on the armature ie 24g

GB - brushless (there is a company called GoBrushless, it may be something to do with them...) some info here: http://www.gobrushless.com/

20mm is the armature (stator) diameter i think.

2s830 is indeed a modelling battery pack

6x3 is the propeller. 6" diameter, 3" pitch

It is referring to the powertrain of a model plane (which one, out of interest? I fly a fair bit in between building a car and working!).

The GB bit is a GObrushless motor, basically a DIY motor, that you wind the wire on the armature yourself. It is based on the stator of a CDrom motor, and the can has Neodyium magnets glued in to replace the stock ferrite ring magnet (more power!)

the 2x830 bit is referring to the battery pack. 830 is the capacity of the cells (830Mah) and the 2 bit means 2 cells in series (so 7.4volt nominal, 2X 3.7v). The cells will be Lithium polymer ones, but I'm not sure of the manufacturer.

If you need any help building a motor like that, give me a shout, I've built a fiar few of them for my Micro Heli and various small aircraft!
