I fancy spending some of my hard earned on a new guitar, but the wife thinks I've got too many already. Should I ignore her and get that
'50s archtop I've been hankering after or not buy another guitar and buy a banjo/uke to spite her?

Neither, spend it on't car!
£250 my limit on that.
get a ukulele, those things are so cool.
if not, a banjo over a guitar def

Just treated myself to an Ovation 1771Lx but was tempted by a mandolin while scanning catalogues.
Sorry if I've made the problem worse!
Basically if you have two eyes reasonably spaced on your head and teeth that approximate a fit in your mouth then buy a guitar, if not buy a
banjo
Only joking! Have given serious consideration to getting a banjo myself recently, have heard that they are a complete bitch for those around you while
you're learning to play.

Get a Banjo, have a couple of teeth pulled and play that tune from "deliverance".
Then she'll wish you'd bought the guitar.
You could always take a job up 'cleaning windows'
How many ya got , you greedy sod!!

Just the six.
If you have a sudden urge to say things like "oo'er mother" and "turned out nice again" get yourself the uke. There was a
banjo orchestra on radio 1 a couple of months ago and they were a real laugh though, so I would look at joining them. They did a cover of Stairway and
it was brilliant
. They also said anything with 4 strings, including bass guitars, is technically a banjo.
Sell all your guitars and buy one amazing guitar.

A banjo would be nice for a while, but I'm a guitar man through and through.
I decent telecaster copy would be nice I'm thinking. Go for a thinline tele if you fancy semi acoustic maybe.
Can't abide Telecasters, or Fenders in general really. I much prefer the 24&3/4 inch scale lengths. I'm thinking of a '50s or early '60s Hofner archtop, there seems to be a few on eBay for reasonable money lately.
I have One main guitar and an elderly tele for string breakage moments.
This is my main plunk - does everything.

im gonna get an electric guitar soon, i sold my old one and amp about 5 years ago when i ran out of money. Missed it ever since,, i made it. Just got a nylon strung accoustic now, its really a kids toy, but it keeps the fingers alive for now.
