Hi Chaps
Anyone have any hints or tips on replacing the head gasket on a 1994 Peugeot 1.9 Diesel non-turbo?
I've read the Haynes manual and the proceedure seems very involved to say the least
I've had a quote of around £400-£450 for a proper job done by a good local garage but thought about doing it myself if I can find the time and
inclination.
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers

they are not too bad to do,just dont turn the engine with head off, make locking pin for bcrank, bolts for cam and pimp
As Conrod says use 2 x 8mm bolts through pump sprocket and 1x 8mm bolt to lock cam , tool for locking crank is a piece of approx 8mm rod bent to shape . goes through block into flywheel just behind starter motor , fiddly to get in but possible without removing starter. Not half as bad to do as you may think
and check the head for corrosion/cracks warping etc
Thanks guys.
Cheers
