just seen a sony cybershot,4 megapix for $100,are they any good and it seems a good price to me,any other makes to look out for?
$= quid cos there isnt a quid sign on this keyboard
I've got the 3 megapixel DSC P72 - cost me about £150 and it's brilliant - produces clear shots every time and has a pretty decent flash
too. £100 sounds like a really good price for the 4 megapixel version, I'd go for it.
I also suggest you add a bigger memory card, the standard one doesn't hold many photos at all. I got myself a 256mb card for £50 off ebay and can
now take about 180 photos at 3 MP resolution and the highest detail setting
Pete
any idea how many pics you can get on a standard card?
That sounds like a really good deal! I've used a Sony cybershot camera a few times and they never seems to fail to give a good quality picture
which is more than can be said for my current camera.
Plus you can't go wrong with the Sony quality!

How big is the card? Probably either 16 or 32Mb. At 4 megapixel not very many on either but run it at either 1 or 2 m'pixel, which give perfectly
good quality up to a reasonable size and I would expect you would get 30 pics at 2 m'pixel with a 16Mb card.

My standard card is 16mb and holds about 11/12 photos on 3MP. The newer cameras come with 32mb because 16 is so stingy, but even so I don't think
you'd get more than about 20 on the card on 4MP. As Andy said, if you reduce the quality you should get a reasonable amount on.

cheers chaps, ill take a wander down there in the morning
Out of interest where are they selling these so cheap?
Pete
sunny poland, seem to be about the same price in all the big shops round here, jvc video cams, not the tape type i think about 2-300 squids, everything is
cheap here
Ah that explains it. I should stock up while you've over there and make yourself a tidy profit when you get back!
