So what would you do with 3 tonne of broken glass?

I can see at least a dozen bottles in tact - I'm happy to wait for the contents to calm down before opening as well

i'm happy to open them before they calm down!

does the driver know breakages must be paid for?

This is exactly why drink driving is a bad idea!
