Has anybody got any experience of these. I wouldn't mind buying one for the kids to watch DVD's on long car journeys.
Best model? Cheapest place to buy one? Oh, and I need one before Saturday
Argos are selling a Centurion 8" screen portable DVD for £149. Never heard of this make. Any good?
Centurion are quite good mate. They sell kits in motor world with 1 or 2 screens at a good price.

Great deal!
Crap deal.
Shinco 8" Portable DVD in Halfords for £149
Equivalent on that site above would cost £199
2 things:
(1) DON'T BUY A CENTURION PLAYER! They are supposed to suffer more niggly faults than any other brand. WE bought a twin screen one in May and are
still trying to get a refund as the remote does not work properly, leading to...
(2) Don't buy from MNC Group, a web only sales company, as their after-sales service is complete toss!
Veba units are supposed to be OK.
I don't have the time to trawl through this lot, but there seems to be a few deals discussed at Money Saving Expert Forum
Bid-up TV!!!!!!!
They sell them. The one that I saw the other week looked quite good value. Sorry I can't remember the make or model it was.

Bid up TV were selling the 6.5" and now the 7" dual screen portables.
We bought the 6.5" version for I think £165, best investment ever made, 2 hour drive to devon in complete silence from the back.
Oh and yes these are Centurion models, and they come with mains adapters as well.

I bought a dvd with twin screens for the back of the wifes 107 it kept the kids quiet on the way to norfolk ..... I got it from Comet can't remember the make I think it was about £180 well worth the money.
I borrowed my Mothers Venturer 7" widescreen portable. 150 quids worth. Absolutely fantastic. I almost forgot my 3 year old was in the back of
the car!!!!! (until she started laughing at Shrek and shouting about the talking Donkey!!! quality moment).
The only problem i had was when she pressed the buttons and stopped the DVD. I couldnt start it again whilst driving and had to stop. It would be nice
if they had a keypad lock.
I was going to buy a Centurian but i heard that they dont have a battery which means you must rely on a power supply, mains or car adaptor. I opted for a Ronin 7" wide screen, adaptors, battery, remote, its very compact and you can connect it to your tv and use it as a regular dvd player too. Its been very reiable and cost £150.00 ish.
Heres another
