I've been continuing to use my paypal acount, though no longer use it to accept payment as it causes mothing but grief. I bought 3 items last
night, the first in a while and they are all showing as uncleared payments, when I click on the ? button they say expected clearing date of 1st sept!
I used my bank account to fund them, so they should be next working day surely. I had a response from one seller to say they'd received an
echeque from me, not what I'd sent.
Is it lkely that because I haven't upgraded my account to a premium account to accept increased charges on transactions that they're now
delaying any payments that I send/receive?
This seems ridiculous.
sorry for the rant, but if anyone has experience of this I'd be interested to hear it...
cheers,
Ned.
one of the traders has been very helpful and responded very quickly to my emails. he thinks its because I don't have cleared funds in the paypal
account. He thinks it would be quicker if it came from a credit card than a bank account?!
maybe i shall open a new paypal account and start again and keep doing that until i hit the same limits and get asked to upgrade again and the trouble
starts....
Pay Pal seem to think they have a captive market, they are really causing thier customers a lot of hassle.
I have to admit that after the trouble I've had I'm seriously considering going back to NoChex.
In order of speed with paypal....
1) The funds are already in your paypal account.
2) Paypal takes the money from your bank via credit/debit card.
3) Paypal takes the money via Direct Debit.
I don't think it makes any difference to the speed of the transaction what type of account you have with paypal.
hope this helps.
Ned - you know you'll get hassle when you try to register the same bank account details under another name. It's better (IMPO) to percy-vere
(
) with the account you have - if you communicate to your sellers what is going on. I had a similar thing for a large amount - took them 3 weeks
IIRC to sort it all out.
I'd rather them take their time and get it right, than rush it and leave potential flaws in the system for fraudulent activities to flourish.
There are alternatives as BT says maybe a gentle reminder into the cyber-side of Paypal wouldn't go amiss
Hope you get it sorted soon!
Not had any problems myself - always pay with Debit Card
I have told paypal to shove it after buying a motor and ancillaries of ebay. When the seller only sent half the goods and ignored my e-mails i
contacted them. They said because i had received something it was tough and nothing to do with them. So basically you could sell something for £2000
send an empty box and paypal wouldn;t do a damn thing

i almost cant wait for the headline 'man butchered over ebay scam'
I'm looking forward to this headline myself.
"VIRUS BANKRUPTS EBAY"
I might feel more kindly towards ebay were it not for the fact that they stopped me selling my body (part by part) on there...... apparently it's
against ebay policy.... what's THAT about?

I've been on the receiving end of an echeque via Paypal this week, and have been unable to use my debit card through Paypal. I received the
following from them tonight (after 2 emails)
"Please accept my apologies, but at the moment PayPal is experiencing
difficulties with authorization of Switch/Solo cards. This issue will be
fixed tomorrow, and at the moment I have escalated your problem to the
team that is working to solve that error.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal"
Ian
