Revved Up
DaveFJ - 1/9/05 at 11:37 AM

Had the misfortune to watch a programme called revved up (i think) on Sky the other night.

It has that cheesy used car salesman in it who used to do the programme about spraying old bangers and making a quick buck.... you know the one - annoying t*sspot.....

anyway I just had to say something

They took a £10,000 Rover 200 MG and spent another £10,000 'modding' it. BUT they only spent £2000 of that under the bonnet! the rest was spent on some really awful stick on spoilers and re-trimming !

what a bloody waste! I think they had a gain of 10Bhp which probably just about got over the extra weight of all that plastic crap.....

Rant over

I know what you mean - you feel as though you have to go out and buy a baseball cap, just so's you can put it on your head backwards.

Awful programme.

Pimp My Ride.

Similar sort of thing, wings, wheels, respray, tacky interior and over the top in car entertainment. Don't think I've seen them clean an engine yet, let alone tune one.

I've seen a few pimp my rides, and was shocked by one of them.
There was a Ford Mustang which had large holes (big enough to get your legs through) rusted through the floor where the drivers and passengers feet went instead of welding a panel in they simply rivetted a panel over without cutting any of the rust out.

If you think that's bad, While in France on my hols i saw German MTV and they had Pimp My Ride but with push bikes!!! It was quite amusing seeing these young Germans trying to pimp a bike using that same format as the US programme. It was a propper MTV pimp my ride programme too....

As for Revvvvvvvved up...C**P

Overhaulin, now they do it properly!
