Smarties!!!
Triton - 7/9/05 at 08:08 PM

Listening to Steve Wright this afternoon he churps up saying that Smarties are changing from the cool round tube to some weird shaped thing......

Peteff - 7/9/05 at 08:19 PM

They may as well change the name while they're at it as well

Triton - 7/9/05 at 08:24 PM

Couldn't eat funny shaped smarties....just not right!

I love speed :-P - 7/9/05 at 08:39 PM

what about the blue smarties

ned - 7/9/05 at 08:44 PM

i heard jonny vaughan talking about this on captial this morning. apparantly the smarties are going the same, but the tube is going hex or octagonal.

when they said it was changing shape i was expecting them to say square, so they could package more into a crate lol, like non bent banana's, another eu directive no doubt lol

Ned.

You'll probably grow out of that by the time you're 5.

Avoneer - 7/9/05 at 09:46 PM

Yeah, but will you still be able to launch the plasic cap into orbit by squeezing a new shaped tube?

Pat...

scoobyis2cool - 7/9/05 at 09:48 PM

I'm sure they've said this more than once before. Sounds like quite a clever bit of marketing on their part - every now and again they just have to mention they're changing the tube and the whole nation is talking about them - lots of free publicity! I bet they don't really intend to change it at all

Pete

won't having a different shaped tube use more cardboard. you know with a cylinder being the most card efficiant shape?

Chris Clarke - 8/9/05 at 06:58 AM

I thought Smarties were only a Canadian thing.

They have been in rectangular cardboard boxes here for as long as I can remember (Im 24). I have only seen the tubes within the last couple of years.

Triton - 8/9/05 at 07:09 AM

Typical......so we have to have odd shaped smarties because the US and Canada have had them for years!!!.....Marathon went Snickers because of you lot too

I think it a more civilized word for Australian.

And as far as I know the States dont have Smarties, only Canada!

"Civilized" and "Australian" don't even belong in the same sentence.

I used to have the complete alaphabet of Smarties lids. So there!

Peteff - 8/9/05 at 09:30 AM
