Van Insurance
greggors84 - 27/10/05 at 11:04 AM

I want to buy a van for windsurfing and general usefulness. So will be purely for personal use

Can anyone recommend an good insurer as ive been told van insurance is normally sky high.

Cheers

Co-op was the only one round here who would insure me for the van for private use. Nissan Vanette with rear windows as standard insured in 1.8 to 2.5 category same as diesel Fiesta.

I wasnt going to teach it to windsurf!!

I'm planning on strapping a big sail to the roof and see how well it can wave ride!

Was looking for a Van for a bit less Barrie, but if nothing turns up will let you know.

ive insured many vans for SDP use only, any broker will be able to sort it out. I think it was tesco i used last time

What sort of prices did you pay Joel? Was it much more than a similar car (engine wise) or did you still pay more?

Shouldn't you be buying a vw bus. That's all we saw in Devon/Cornwall

i believe my van was similar to the cars, or slightly more. It wasnt a full year i did it for last time, i usually swap existing policies around.

You should be able to add a limited mileage in

I'm with Direct Choice. Looked through many a company when I renewed and these were the cheapest. Norwich Union used to be pretty cheap until this year when both my van and car insurance went up, used Screentrade for the car and the already mentioned above for the van and saved a load.

Only if you want overpriced and unreliable vans.

Although I have a T4 Transporter with alloys and middle windows if you want it. Comes with a Peugeot 2.1 turbo diesel fitted as the VW engines are not the best, XK6 leather seats (full electric) and exclusive Fe2O3 designer wheelarch trims.

Try quoteline direct. We insure a LWB High Roof Iveco 35S11 for about £300 fully comp for business (building) use.

Peteff - 27/10/05 at 11:20 PM

Norwich union quoted me for my Nissan, £650 but insured as a van. Co-op was £170 for SDP, not commercial.
