My oldman has just moved into a new office and wants to have a phone, a fax and internet on the computer, Is there anyway you can do this on one line?
without having to answer the phone to recive a fax. idealy have a seperate fax number but still only have one line in the office?
Any sugestions
Most fax machines can be set to only pick up the line after so many rings, or if it determines its an incoming fax, so its no problem to have the same phone/fax line and number. get broadband internet access and that will sit on the same line to without interfering with the phone or fax plus you really need broadband for business. Done.
The best option would be to have a Business Highway line installed. This gives you two analog lines and a digital line for your internet (you can only use 2 of the 3 lines at once though). Downside is its about double the price of a standard line.
You could get a BT phone line, upgrade it to Broadband using an ISP that provides a virtual fax number service which converts incoming faxes to emails.
I have a phone/fax and internet... the fax will not work with the PC internet attached, even through the ISDN filter.

That is what I have ended up doing... Fax (silent ring) on one line Phone/Internet (email) on other.
