Do I need CBT for a 50cc scooter?
Cheers,
Pat...
Yes!
My dad didnt need a CBT to ride a 50cc scooter, but did for anything bigger. Maybe this changed with the newer lisences?
CBT is compulsory for any bike/scooter

if you have a full car licence issued before 1st febuary 2001 you will have a full moped licence automatically!
So as long as its no bigger than 50cc you can ride without a cbt
Bigger than 50cc or licence after february 2001 needs cbt
Just gone though all this cos have gone to proper bike from scooter
Where I work that is 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapy', its about challenging thoughts that give you problems in life!!!
So it's a "do I really need the problems this moped is going to cause me" sort of thing then? When I took mine it was just riding round some cones in a tennis court, no philosophy involved at all.
Everyone should be made to ride 2 wheels first as it teaches respect and you quickly find out that acting a tit hurts

I agree with triton far too many tits out on the roads
As i understand it, if you got your licence before the cut-off date then you get full moped and provisional motorcycle entitlement. Although you don't need CBT to take advantage of the moped licence, you do need to take one to use the provisional bike part.
Yeah, just read the DSA website and as my full licence was valid from 1991, I can ride a 50cc moped without any L plates.

And when you get the moped you get a spare engine for the locoblade.....
When I saw the post heading I thought you were going ultra-lightweight and cutting out a couple of the wheels.
i found out the other day that my license is too recent to even drive a mini bus! Which is bizarre, as i drive a van most days for work, but we had to leave the bus driving to a friend who has rarely ever driven a van sized vehicle...
