Cor Blimey!!!!, brings a tear to your eye if you are of a certain age!

Fleetwood Mac music, Murray Walker commentating, all the cars and tyres the same, no driver aides..............give me a nudge imust have dozed of in the armchair

Russ-Turner - 13/11/05 at 05:12 PM

...and Patrese eating Nige's dust... just like the old days. I can't wait to see what Prost can do when he joins!

theconrodkid - 13/11/05 at 05:15 PM

i supose at 50 odd and having not driven for many years you will be a bit rusty, see what happens next race.
ps welcome back murray

Fittipaldi did well for a 58 year old I thought. Him and Mansell were really good, especially at the end, it couldn't have been a lot closer.

Ah Makes you feel young again. Or should that be makes you feel old. I would have liked to have seen all the old sponsor colours on the cars but I suppose you can't have everthing.

Russ-Turner - 13/11/05 at 05:37 PM

They can't be that unfit... did you see how young some of the wives and girlfriends were?!

andyps - 13/11/05 at 05:44 PM

My main thought was that I hope Bernie and Max were watching - more fun in the second half of that race than the whole of the F1 season this year.

Great to see two of my favourite racing drivers battling it out for the lead. I'm looking forward tot he next race.

greggors84 - 13/11/05 at 06:05 PM

It really was great to hear Murray shouting Mansells name again! It just confirms the fact that James Allen is rubbish!

Can't beleive some of the wives they have! And Mansells daughter has definately grown up!!

MikeR - 13/11/05 at 06:18 PM

hmmmmm, wife or daughter, i wouldn't say no to any of them

Perverts

Watched it live on Motors TV this morning - must say I was impressed by the pace of Mansell and Fittipaldi, but was generally disappointed by the racing.
Same criticisms as F1 really, processional and dull.

Best racing I ever saw was years ago, 1000cc yamaha engined single seaters for under 16 year olds.

More action than an Arnie film, tantrums, 2 minor fights, 3 walking back to the pits in tears, thrown helmets, less than 50% finished. I was creased up. Never saw it televised again though

Moto GP ......say no more

a_b_c_etc - 13/11/05 at 10:28 PM

Moto GP..........................say no more....

Triton - 13/11/05 at 10:33 PM

Don't forget the 125's ...now where can you see someone go from 6th to 1st in one easy move...then back to 6th again when guffed a gear.....mental

ChrisGamlin - 14/11/05 at 12:49 PM

/Minirant mode on

If people continue to offer the (now rather predictable) "MotoGP is much better" answer to every thread about motorsport, they might as well throw Horse Racing into the mix as well, lots of overtaking there and always a close finish so you must find it really exciting?!!

Probably not though, because the diciplines are totally different, as are bike racing vs car racing. What makes a car race interesting isnt necessarily what makes a bike race interesting, FWIW I do like both but find them interesting for different reasons. Car racing I can relate to more and appreciate the driving skills because to a lesser degree, I use the same skills when driving on track. Although I still appreciate how talented the likes of Rossi are, having never ridden a bike in anger, I can't accurately appreciate or relate to the skills involved so it has les inherent interest than a car race.

I do wonder how long GP Masters will survive if one of the drivers gets killed or seriously injured - I got the impression that the drivers' wives had only let them drive on a limited license! And one top driver wasn't allowed to drive by SWMBO - Jody Scheckter?

Murray said during the commentary that Jody is happy being an organic farmer, he has said for a while that he is not wanting to race now. Think he is probably happy supporting his sons career.
