well as the title says i have finally finished the garage floor in my work area. at a total cost of £37 i think ive done pretty well on the budget side of things. look out handy andy cuz handy Alex is back in town: application to D.I.Y SOS is in the post.

Concrete/ sand and aggregate =£37 (1/2M^3)
flooring =free
concrete sealer =free
self levelling concrete = free
concrete mixer = me (but never again)
time = 4 days

finished product = PRICELESS

cheers donut and nick, the thinking was that with a laminate floor the 'oil and kak' as you eliquently put it, will be easy to clean up.

I know its a shame to hide your handiwork, but I strongly suggest you get some old carpet from anywhere, and stick that over the lot. Not only will it protect the laminate, but it will make it much MUCH *MUCH* warmer and softer to kneel / lay on. Trust me, by the time you've finished building the car, your knees will thank you for it.
I'd also think about some shelves ... you'll need the storage space

hi richard thanks for the comments and suggestions, i might add that this is just my work area which is on the side of the garage. the rest of the garage is behind me and to my left.(from where im taking the photo from) ive got some carpet that i got from a littlewoods in town that closed down. which will be going down in the large part of the garage once ive cleared the rest of the junk out, before my chassis arrives in 4 weeks! work bench and shelving is to my left out of the picture

Nice to see the trusty old Black&Decker workmate in the background, Vital piece of kit!

Ours has been invauable for holding things whilst attacking em with the grinder etc.

Excellent working height for re-lapping valves and gas flowing work as well!

Nice to see another so old still in good service!
