evening all, hope you have all have a good weekend in your garages!

i was in mine today changing the front bearings, when i came across a bit of a stumbling block.(it was more like, i was running a 100metres and someone threw a chair at my legs.................) as i was taking off the upright i some how managed to damage the thread on the drive flange! the thread appears that it has been flattened, the locking nut will only go on about 5 turns but then no more.

is there any way in which i can recover the thread, it doesn't look too bad.....

Thanks chaps

ATB Alex

You may be able to dress the damaged part of the thread with a threadfile, if it has just got a flat section on it from a knock .Thread files are available in metric and imperial and have a number of differnt pitches on them , try a local engineering suppliers.
