Steam Irons
Hellfire - 8/4/06 at 08:41 PM

OK. Wife was doing some ironing tonight, when all of a sudden..... POP. It died. Now, I'm a bloke, so don't understand things like steam irons. Therefore, my other half would like to know which iron I should buy her.

I want to know, which is best. Don't want to pay more than £50. Doesn't have to be cordless (if indeed you could get a cordless one that cheap). Something that is reliable and will keep her happy ironing for years to come. Last one was a Tefal Ultraglide (so she told me) and lasted about 6 years, so not too bad.

She is currently chained to the sink and the cooker only but I like to give her a bit of variety every now and again and besides, I can't go into the office wearing crumpled shirts

Please give me some advice and help to bring some happiness back into her life.

Go to tescos and get the cheapest ........doesnt hurt so much when they pack up . Besides unless you buy a proffesional one the quality seems to be the same.

It possibly only needs a new fuse and the wire going into the handle cut back and reconnected.

It's something you add a smivic of carbon to,
and then you have the basic ingredient for rust.

Ever tried using one....jeeees i got creases where i never knew you could....daft devices that burn fingers

Peteff - 9/4/06 at 08:35 AM

therefore it's a power tool. That's what she told me anyway. Have I been conned.

Hellfire - 9/4/06 at 08:53 AM

Nahhh, don't be fooled by that one Pete. It doesn't make no where near enough noise to qualify as a 'Power Tool'.......

Snap!!! I was told that as well along with cookers, kettles even washing machines.
I did try to point out that welders/grinders are different but no use
