Is the average Cobra replica kit car any better (more comfortable) for motorway cruising than a Locost built for that, i.e. car engined Locost with
top, wipers, heater? Has anyone used one of these for this purpose?
Cheers,
Alex

I would say yes as the cockpit and seats are a fair bit wider.
I would have one over a 7 any day.
I'd suspect yes, mainly because they have curved windscreens, are bigger with wheel covering bodies both of which should mean less wind
buffeting.
They generally have lazy V8's with lots of torque rather than higher reving 4 pots.
Different beast, have both, you know it makes sense

full cobra replica kit £35k-£45k depending on spec,
against locost/DAX/MAC#1/MK at 6k-10k hmmmmmm let me think
do i need to think?
Biggest problem I can see with many Cobra reps is that, following the original, they have a chassis with all the sophistication of a Sir Les Patterson
chat-up line. I believe there are one or two with a backbone chassis similar to that used by Lotus in the Elan/Esprit but that apart they are kinda
crude.
Far more conducive to touring than a seven as they have a boot you can fit more than a handbag in and, given the cash, I'd have one tomorrow as
they are still one of the best looking cars ever made.
i agree with iank. have both one for the best of both worlds, cobras are very plush - if you have go high spec but a locost is what kitcars are all about -for tourer go cobra - for fun go 7
Thank you very much for your interesting thoughts.
I'm not thinking of parting with my Blade Locost, not at all, never!! but I'd love to add some tourer to the garage sometime.. that's
why I've been asking you guys about a lot of nice cars, quite unrelated btw (MX-5, the unaffordable NSX, Aeon GT3, Elise).. lately I've been
having a look at some second hand 6 cyl & 8 cyl, including Cobras and TVRs..
Cheers,
Alex

If any car has to go, it won't be my blade, it'll be my rather knackered Golf..
