If a speed camera doesnt flash, can it still get you or do they always flash?

Oooh dear, don't think the newer forward facing cameras flash when they catch you (the ones where there's two black lines in the road). Or the SPECS

But the old Gatso type i'm pretty sure have to flash.

PS, where bouts was it so I can avoid it lol

regular cam - twin flash needed - but still may not have a cam in it at that time ,,, you can drive into them and set some of them off for fun as the second flash when u go into em means you're out of the picture on its second flash,,,

'safety' mobile van is fatal - 99.9% nicked if speeding ....

usual fix is find an old granny who dont drive anymore and ask her to say she was driving at time.. send off cash n licence... jobs a goodun...

cams only get the unwarey and strangers to the area... anyone with any local knowledge generaly slows n speeds up... even 50cc scooters..............

remove your front plate, job done. If you get stopped, feign suprise and say someone must've pinched it. At worst it a £30 fine, no points.

On my old tin top, fitted the front no. plate on two strips of metal, then bent it up under the front bumper, (sorry ocifer, must have touched a speed bump), was never stopped in five years. No points on licence from front readers, almost as good as having a m/bike. Ray

Gatso cameras, the ones that take you from behind (literally!), they flash.

Truvelo, the ones that face you flash as well. If you look at the box there is two holes, one for the lens and one for the flash, i think its the purple tinted bit that flashes as when i got done it seemed to have a light colour to it.

The vans wont flash and neither do the specs which are the average speed ones on motorways (i think)

The specs use infra red cameras and lighting though so they can still be used at night, not sure if the vans can be although have never seen one at night.

EDIT:

Just read this guide and apparently the truvelo cameras dont flash! Which surprised me as when i got done i could have sworn it flashed at me, it was what made me notice the camera was there.

The newer cameras around Mitcham are vey small yellow boxes. Not only do they not flash, they never run out of film either...........they are digital.
