I have a MK2 escort, (well, the drivetrain and plates
and I was wondering about changing the reg over to my everyday car. How difficult/expensive
is it and more importantly, what would happen to the escort ? Would DVLA issue another replacement no. for it or would I have to buy a replacement ?
Most importantly of all (to me) would I still get an age-related plate when I come to register my Locost ?
Lot of questions, but thats 'cos I've not got a clue ;(
TIA
I think you pay a transfer fee and the escort gets issue new plates. Dunno if you pay 2 transfer fees thou....
why not take a look on some of the reg number plate sites, and do a search on google. Sure you will find what you need there

Not sure if you can take a plate off a car that has no MOT.
I tried to get a reg from a basket case ford pop some years back, was told by DVLA that it had to be road legal and if the tax has run out it cannot be
more than 6 months out of date.
Maybe things have changed though.
It's true you need an MOT for the car the plates are coming from. Plenty of places where one can be obtained though (ahem) and if you're not using it
on the road I can't see you getting caught (or what the big deal would be anyway)
