Look's like the girlfriends run around has dropped a valve, no compression to cylinder 2 and on removal of the rocker cover the hydraulic lifter is easy to push into the valve.

Any one had any experience of rebuilding this engine, i have access to seat cutting and valve cutting gear.

Before i fork out for a haynes manual does anyone have any info for the timing etc

Any help much appreciated

Mike

Mike

I have to admit it doesn't sound good. If the valve is stuck open it could have caused a lot of damage to the head and/or piston, particularly if this happened while the engine was running or if the engine has tried to be started.

You won't really know until you take the cylinder head off.

A cheaper option could be to look for a lowish mileage 2nd hand engine from a crashed one etc.

Best of luck

If you want it to be slower, did they not do a 1.1 K series?
