Weyhey - I just got a reliant kitten off ebay for 80 notes.
I'm going to electrify it for my next project - with AC drive (nothing like doing things the hard way....)
So why isn't there an "electric section" on this forum..??

PS it's gonna be such a shed - it had brambles growing through it on the picture on ebay...

If it's AC you're going to need a long flex

electrics section here

why AC? Surely you are going to loose power converting from DC to AC?

AC for zero motor maintenance/dirt/sparks etc.
Best would be permanent magnet synchronous (DC brushless) but that's a bit hard to control so I'm going for cheap & cheerful induction motor..
I design inverters for a living so it should be a breeze......
