Went to Rufforth autojumble on saturday, only been there 2 mins and spotted a small heavy duty power hacksaw, been after one for ages, the guy wanted £150, he plugged it into a genny and showed me it moving under power. All good so far. I did notice it had hastily been given a lick of paint, but thought maybe he'd just tarted it up to sell, fair enough. Also the guy had an accent that would lead me to think he don't pay any council tax, but hey ho. We agreed a price of £140 and i gave him £20 deposit. Came back later to collect and he was really busy, so his son helped me get it to the van and load it in.
20 miles down the road i realised i never gave him any more cash At this point i guess some folks would be toasting their good fortune, but i honestly felt quite bad, I contemplated going back, but was late for a job, and thought sod it, hopefully he will be there next month. When i got home, made the mistake of telling the missus, who then proceeded to wind me up all night, pointing out it was nearly xmas, and the poor blokes kids would probably have to go without etc etc. Went to bed feeling like a right git.
Anyhow, i'm in the garage this morning and needed to cut some hollow section, so thought i'd give the saw a trial. Seemed ok, then halfway through, CRUNCH! bloomin thing snapped in half on the slideway. Closer inspection revealed it had broken before and been badly welded up, hence the hasty paint job. Spent all afternoon repairing it, and thinking about how i'd felt bad for the lousy cheating git. I hope he chokes on a mince pie. Funny how things work out.

See, it's all about Karma. He sold you a crap saw, you "forgot" to pay him, so when you get home it breaks. He's not got any money (potentially) and you don't have a saw. Nearly all square. Kind of.

I saw that saw but didn't have that sort of coin with me, wouldn't worry though, maybe give rufforth a miss for a few months though
