Can't believe they've called it skynet. Why not go the whole hog and call it Damien death satellite or something?

I can just imagine those tank tracks crushing those human skulls as we speak...

i wondered this myself. However, a few minutes research cleared it up. This is skynet 5A they are launching. Skynet 1 was launched in 1969. The film computer was named after the real one, not the other way round.

I remember when it was first started on. Where I used to work we all had a laugh at the name.

Mix it with the eventual arrival of armed UAVs, and small armed robots in the British forces and you have reality imitating art
