I have just posted this on a bmw forum and cant wait to hear what they say.

"Now for the rant : I use a few internet forums , car ones included and this site has to be the worst for the same people over and over again replying to posts about things they dont know the answer to but just have to post a reply. Are these people just internet freaks who are more interested in 7 series BMW's or just playing with the computer. My top tip (as seen in other forums) : If you dont know an answer to a post dont post a stupid reply just for the sake of it or give advice when you havn't got a clue. You only have to look for yourself the same names keep coming up all the time. Now this is only my opinion which everyone is entitled to......."

This is not my opinion of this site. This seems to be a better bunch of helpfull and interesting people. I have even had people at work looking at this site that wouldn't know a camshaft from a calm day. Thanks

I'm sorry but the camshaft on a BMW is much stronger than one on a Audi!

(ok, i'm probably as guilty as anyone on this site of answering questions with information i've gathered but not put into practice)

I love the daft posts on this site and this is the type of topic that anybody can post on but i was realy stuck with the BMW and kept getting stupid answers like my model of car didn't exist..

Some people, me included regard this site as a friendly social club kind of thing that if it was simply nothing more than frank cold answerers to question would become totally boring.

One of the best ways to learn is to put forth your belief in something, if your then shot down in flames as being totally wrong, well now you’ve learn something new. I like the fact that completely new people who have very little experience with cars or none at all can feel unthreatened to ask that dumb question or give an equally dumb answer without fear of being mocked by others. We all have to start somewhere…

So I say, long may it continue.
