Just had a call off my brother who received an email off someone about a laptop with a damaged screen my brother is selling on ebay. He said he is willing to pay him £1400 for the laptop plus an extra £100 to ship it to his son! It sounds very tempting but told him to stay clear as it sounded like a scam of some sort. I told him to email ebay and/or paypal about it and see what they say but I was just wondering if anyone on here has had a similar experience?
Alienware?
Huh?
I assume the laptop is up for sale much less than £1400? Sounds like one of the old Nigerian money transfer scams, I`d keep well clear.
Its a scam.
I've had the same tried on me when I was selling my car. They always offer more, usually its a false cheque or bankers draft.
Stay well clear.
As above - blatantly obvious scam. Next message will be asking for account details to transfer funds to or similar!! Report the member and let Ebay hopefully bloke them

I had the same selling a server - definitely a scam - I reported the person to eBay and they confirmed it was a scam

That's a shame, I've got two he could have had for that price.

Why do they always offer such ridiculously high prices? To see if you're really gullible? It's silly.... £1000 postage. Sounds rather
expensive even for parcelforce
Can you post the name of the person who offered you the money? I think I have something similar with a stuffed bird I tried to sell.
