Pilgrim Sumo [Cobra] Sale on!
donut - 4/1/08 at 09:37 AM

Pilgrim are having an xmas sale on i think till the end of the month.

Theres me after another car to build and my fave car EVER [the Cobra] looks like it could be afordable to get going!! I am looking at the phoenix and fury so the Sumo won't be too far off the mark, just more expensive in the engine and fittings department.

Wahey!!

They offer that (or it might even be £500) off at every show anyway don't they?

Dunno but i'm taking full advantage from it i think. Gonna pop down there tuesday as it's about 40 mins away and it's a car i have always wanted. Don't know why i didn't think about it before!!

If you go for the stripped out racer look (preferable in my book, but I know some like the cream leather and chrome thing) the cost isn't too bad compared to other kits. There was one featured in an early PPC.

It's the fittings that cost the earth on Cobra's. Nice sensible small block v8 (chevy 350) will cost the same/less than a tuned rover v8 for the same power IIRC, especially if you get the parts from the US with the current exchange rate.

Yep i think you're right, also it's the only car i really, really, really really want so this one will hopefully be for keeps.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that their website (Pilgrim's) is pants.

Theres an original Cobra with a full kevlar body sat in the corner of the garage I regularly visit. Been collecting dust for a year now I think but the owner doesn't seem particulry bothered about getting it back any time soon.

Quite often I end up helping to push it around the workshop to get my cars on the ramp. Now that's a real waste of motoring history!
