Hi with Sky prices going up and up i am thinking of getting a free view card to fit my sky machine [ digital box ]
can any one tell me were you get them from and how much do they cost
Thank's
Jacko
when you cancel your subscription with sky the card you have will allow you to view the free channels

Yep that is the case, used to have SKY at the betting shop i worked at, strictly for sports of course
but then SKY wanted more money and ladbrokes
pulled out leaving us with just freeview. We only found this out when one day we only had the freeview channels rather than the full Sky set
which you will find are most of them anyway, apart from the movies and sport that you had to pay extra for
Will i still get Motors tv ?
Don't think you will, it used to be FTA but i'm sure it went over to the darkside a while ago.
Men and Motors is still FTA though.
These are the channels u will get on freeview

Hang on, hang on, hang on....
Freeview isn't the same as Freesat (sky) and it isn't the same as Freesat (BBC, ITV + C4).
If you stop subscribing to Sky the carb will still usually give you the Freesat (sky ) channels. Otherwise you can just buy a Freesat(sky) card for
about 40 quid IIRC. Obviously you'll need a sky box and a satellite dish.
Freeview is the STB thingy with top-up cards available and uses roof aeriels.
Freesat(BBC,ITV+C4) is something completely different and uses a satellite dish and a decoder box (in fact it's very like Freesat[sky] but you
get different channels and you get HD if your decoder box can handle it).....
Freeview is received via your standard television aerial and nothing to do with Satellite. This is the
replacement for the old analogue signal we've been using since time began.
Freesat (Sky) and Freesat (BBC et al) come from the same satellite cluster.
This Freesat (Sky) includes encrypted and unencrypted FTA channels and the Sky Programme Guide
This Freesat (BBC etc al) only includes the unencrypted FTA channels and the new Freesat Programme Guide.
IIRC, all the channels in the latter offering are on the Astra 1D satellite which has a tighter footprint (focussed on the UK). This enables the BBC
to transmit over satellite without paying Sky loads of money for encryption to avoid breaking the footprint imposed by the fact they're funded by
a tax.

No Dave on either Freesat or freesat though, probably one of my most watched channels!
