Now this has put me in a bad mood big time.
Finally managed to get a reservation number for a Wii fit thing for my wife, really happy as it would get me loads of smarty points to work in the
garage.
Pop round after work only to be told that my reserved item was sold earlier. No one has had access to the number as it has been in my wallet all
day.
Argos really couldn't give a damn that someone has walked off with something which they hadn't reserved.
Any ideas how this happened and is there anything I can do about it? apart from drag the scrawny little manager across the counter and beat him
senseless with some of that tat they pile up near the counter because they can't sell it?
Sorry for the rant, feel a bit better now though still want some sort of satisfaction from Argos
Have you a HMV local to you ?
Some of them have been getting batchs in. I had a chat to the very helpfull manager who let slip that a batch of 5 were due in on / at ( same price as
Argos )
my feeling about argos it will have been an inside job and someone overiding the reserve thus making a fast buck have you seen how much they are going
for on fleabay ?
Ps they are really good fun !

One of the staff probably kept it for themselves
If you feel that strongly about it, kick up a stink with the Argos head office - their address will be in the catalogue.
It could be simple incompetence, or maybe someone's doing a fiddle...
Not wishing to rub salt in the wound picked one up from Auchan in Calais for my bro in law on my recent return from France, 10 squids cheaper than
here and they have tons of em. Do you know anyone going over.
Cheers,
Bob
I'd write to head office and ask why that happened. If you'd paid for it and reserved it then there's a contract. It be interesting to
see what the small print says....
But a stroppy letter to head office would like at the very least get some vouchers. Make sure you mention how it was a long journey to go and get it,
you had to cancel something else etc etc etc
i think you just reserve it then go and collect and pay.
main problem is that you dont need a reservation number.... you simply go in and say you have reserved a Wii Fit. you can get away with not saying
your name by saying "im picking it up for a friend".
no offense to anyone on here, but argos seem to get their staff from the same place that Co-op of Holland&Barret get them from - oh, and have you
noticed - the staff at Holland&Barret - which is a heath shop, always look so un heathly!!!!!
Thats a new one.
As said write a stinky letter or email to head office. You never know you might get some money off vouchers
I had bit of agro with toys r us over a guitar hero controller . Wanted a straight swap like for like cos it had an intermittant fault. Was told
unless it showed up in store wouldn't change it!
Sent message via website explaining situation next day a sunday got a phone call sayin take it down. Girl on desk when i got there knew i was coming!
So i'd say get onto website and explain situation see wot they say

When I reserved something a while back, I had to enter the reservation number on one of their machines. It printed out the usual collection point
ticket and the goods were produced.
I really would have a go at Head Office - Argos are always pushing their on-line reservation system and may be really peeved to find that
someone's abusing or mis-using it.
you can't have it both ways.
If you want cheap prices, shop at places
where they have low overheads.
If you want good service you (usually) have
to pay a little more. - It's company profit
that pays the staff!!
Oh, and yes, I have my own business,
(retail & commercial stationery, office equipment etc),
and the staff get more than minimum wage

Buy her gym membership instead... gets her out of the house so you can use the dish washer to clean engine parts and she can't moan at you
well fellas here is an update.
Emailed customers services voicing concern about how secure info is on their website and with 15 minutes the branch phoned and said they'd had
more in stock and gave me a new reservation number.
Whether it is pure coincidence or not I don't really care, long as SWIMBO is happy then I can earn more garage points.
Cheers all for the help, it'll aloow me more time to work out the problems with my battery.
Result
Good result - and I can imagine the telephone conversation between head office, area manager and branch manager...
